This June, Philadelphia maintained position as the 12th most expensive market in the country, as rent prices remained steady with a one bedroom median of $1,350 and two bedroom median of $1,400. To compare, the city came ahead of Portland, Atlanta, and Denver on our list of prices across the top 50 metro regions in the United States.
The map above shows the distribution of rents by neighborhood. The most expensive areas to rent this summer included Center City West ($1,810), Logan Square ($1,850), and University City ($1,780), while other central areas were also on the pricier end, with median one bedroom prices in the mid $1,000’s. More affordable neighborhoods were found to the west in the $600-$800 range, and across the river in New Jersey at around $700.
