According to our most recent national rent report, San Francisco continued to rank as the most expensive rental market in nation. One bedroom rent grew 1.5% to $3,490, while two bedrooms increased 1.1% to $4,600. On a year over year basis, prices for both bedroom types stayed relatively unchanged with less than a 4% change.
While Marina and Telegraph Hill had the fastest growing prices last quarter, up 9% and 8%, respectively, Lower Pacific Heights and Lakeshore took the biggest rent dips, both down around 7%.
South Beach ($3,850), Mission Bay – Dog Patch ($3,750), and Pacific Heights ($3,700) were the most expensive neighborhoods to rent this summer. Hayes Valley, Marina, and SOMA followed closely behind as the next priciest areas.
More affordable rentals, priced at $2,900 or under, could be found in Bayview, Inner Sunset, and West of Twin Peaks.
