It’s no surprise that rents are on the rise, that much we know. So, with median rent prices spiking all over the country, we thought it’d be interesting to see what your money gets you depending on where you live. That’s why we rounded up 10 apartments that can be rented for $1,500 or less in 10 different U.S. cities. From three-bedroom houses to studios with a little something missing, here’s what we found.

Its large windows and exposed brick walls go hand in hand with the trendy, hip feel of the Mission. Bike lockers are available for $25/month, there’s a rooftop all tenants can enjoy, laundry is on-site, and bars, restaurants, and public transportation are literal steps from the studio.

If this place sounds too good to be true, you’re right. Although the apartment building itself is ripe with amenities, the studio lacks one major feature: a kitchen. This studio–for around $1,500, mind you–does not have a kitchen. Instead, you’d share a communal kitchen with 49 other tenants. If you can handle waiting for your turn to use the stove or eating crock pot meals exclusively, well, this place is perfect for you. It’s off the market now, but with 49 similar units, one is bound to open up soon.

The two-bedroom in downtown is just a step away from all that Memphis has to offer. Walk from the apartment to FedEx Forum and catch a Memphis Grizzlies game; stroll along nearby Beale Street Historic District; and, get some grub at one of the many restaurants on Main Street.
