Last month, Columbus was the 35th most expensive rental market in the country, with one bedroom median rents increasing to $700, up 4.5% in the trailing quarter. Two bedrooms were also up 1.2% on the quarter at $860. This puts ColumbusĀ ahead of Cleveland, Las Vegas, andĀ Mesa (AZ) on our list of the 50 largest US rental markets by population.
Looking at neighborhood data, the most expensive areas were centered around Downtown Columbus, which had a median one bedroom rent of $1,065. Other higher priced areas included the Brewery District and German Village, both at $995, and Tri-Village at $999. More affordable neighborhoods included North Hilltop at $475, Valleyview Heights at $480, and Southern Orchards at $490.
