The Atlanta rental market continued to be red hot this summer, as rent prices appreciated across all bedroom types. The city is now the fourteenth most expensive market in the US on a median rent basis, with strong demand fundamentals leading the way. One bedroom median rents were up 1.6% in July to $1,250, while two bedrooms were up 3.2% in the month to $1,600.
In our latest August National Rent Report, Atlanta was the sixth fastest growing market in the country, with prices increasing 13.6% in the past year alone.
Atlanta-Summer2015Similar to last quarter’s map, higher prices centered around two main areas. Up north, including South Tuxedo Park ($1,690), Peachtree Heights West ($1,640), and North Buckhead ($1,590). And the second, further south around Ansley Park ($1,530), Midtown ($1,480), and Brookwood ($1,490).
More affordable options were found to the southwest of the city, with median one bedroom prices ranging between $600-$1,000 on average.
