The Zumper Portland Metro Report analyzed active listings in June across 13 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The state median one bedroom rent last month was $1,067.
Cities Ranked By Rent
The Most Expensive
–Portland, OR continued to reign as the most expensive city with rent at $1,460.
–Hillsboro & Lake Oswego, OR tied for second with one bedrooms priced at $1,400.
–Happy Valley, ORÂ moved up one spot, passing Tualatin, to become third with rent growing $60 to $1,300.
The Least Expensive
–Forest Grove, OR saw rent drop $30 to $910 but remain the most affordable in the metro.
–Oregon City, OR was the second least expensive with rent at an even $1,000.
–Tigard, ORÂ rent fell $10 to $1,050 but continued to rank as third.
Growth Rate
The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)
–Lake Oswego, ORÂ had the fastest growing rent since this time last year, up 11.1%.
The Fastest Growing (M/M%)
–Hillsboro & Lake Oswego, OR had the largest monthly rental growth rates, both climbing 5.3%.
–Happy Valley, ORÂ rent was the second fastest growing last month, jumping 4.8%.
