The Zumper Portland Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in January 2020 across 11 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Oregon one bedroom median rent was $1,121 last month.
The Most Expensive
–Portland was the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $1,400.
–Hillsboro rent dropped 1.5% to $1,330 and ranked as the second priciest city.
–Tigard was third with rent at $1,300.
The Least Expensive
–Albany ranked as the most affordable city with one bedrooms priced at $830.
–Salem saw rent stay flat at $880 and rank as the second least expensive city.
–McMinnville was third with rent at $960.
The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)
–Newberg had the fastest growing rent, up 15.2% since this time last year.
–Tigard followed closely behind as second with rent climbing 15.0%.
The Fastest Growing (M/M%)
–Portland had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up 2.9%.
