Coming ahead of Buffalo, Gilbert, and Henderson, Pittsburgh ranked as the 41st most expensive rental market in the nation. Last month, one bedroom rent decreased 0.9% to $1,090, while two bedrooms fell 0.7% to $1,340. Notably, on a year over year basis, one bedroom rent is down 9.2% since this time last year.

For our first ever Pittsburgh rent map, Strip District ($1,520), Central Business District ($1,350), and North Shore ($1,320) came in as the most expensive neighborhoods to rent. All tied at $1,100 for one bedrooms, Allegheny Center, Shadyside, and Southside Flats were the next priciest areas. Mid-range priced rentals, for less than $1,000, could be found in Squirrel Hill North, Lower Lawrenceville, and North Oakland.

On the other end of the cost spectrum, Homewood West, Homewood South, and Homewood North were the most affordable neighborhoods.
