Coming ahead of Baltimore, New Orleans, and Nashville, Portland ranked as the 22nd most expensive city to rent in the nation with one and two bedroom prices at $1,400 and $1,660, respectively. Notably, on a year over year basis, one bedroom rent is down 6%.

This fall, Pearl ($1,890) and Arlington Heights ($1,850) were the most expensive neighborhoods to rent. All tied for third at $1,550, Downtown, Hillside, and South Portland or Corbet Terwilliger Lair Hill were the next priciest areas. More affordable rentals priced under $1,200 could be found in Foster-Powell, Irvington, and Sullivan’s Gulch.
Meanwhile, the most affordable neighborhoods included Powellhurst-Gilbert, West Portland Park, and Argay.
