Jumping two spots this month, Philadelphia outpaced Atlanta and Baltimore in our most recent list of rent prices across the U.S. to become the 13th most expensive rental market in the nation. One bedroom apartments increased 4.1% to a median of $1,280 while two bedrooms increased 2.2% to $1,410.
Hovering around the $1,800 threshold, the most expensive Philly neighborhoods this spring were Logan Square ($1,880), University City ($1,840), and Center City West ($1,750). If you wanted to live around central Philly for a few hundred dollars less, Point Breeze ($1,350), Queen Village – Pennsport ($1,300), and Bella Vista – Southwark ($1,290) were more affordable options.
Rentals for less than $900 can be found in the areas around Carroll Park, Cobbs Creek, and Eastwick – Southwest Philadelphia.
