Jumping 2 spots this month and into the top 5 markets, Washington D.C. ranked as the 5th most expensive rental market in the nation. The price of one bedroom units grew 1% to a median of $2,010, while two bedroom units increased 4.9% to $2,760.

At a median of $2,500 a month for one bedroom units, Georgetown and Logan Circle – Shaw were the most expensive neighborhoods to rent this spring. Close behind, Mount Vernon Square, Dupont Circle, and Downtown – Penn Quarter – Chinatown were the next priciest areas.

Brightwood – Manor Park, Michigan Park, and Kingman Park had some of the fastest growing rents, all up over 10% since last quarter.
