The Zumper Baltimore Metro Report analyzed active listings in October across 14 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Maryland state median rent was $1,231 last month.

The Most Expensive

Columbia, MD rent remained at $1,550 last month and also as the most expensive in the metro area.

Elkridge, MD ranked as the second priciest city with rent at $1,480.

Annapolis, MD followed closely behind as third with one bedrooms priced at $1,470.

The Least Expensive

Brooklyn Park, MD rent, though growing $40 to $800 last month, continued to rank as the most affordable.

Westminster & Dundalk, MD tied for the second least expensive city with rents both at $850.

Parkville, MD ranked as third with one bedrooms priced at $900.

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

Elkridge, MD prices were the fastest growing since this time last year, climbing 13%.

Columbia, MD rent jumped 12.3%, making it the second fastest growing.

Baltimore, MD had the third largest yearly rental growth rate, up 11.4%.

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

Brooklyn Park, MD saw prices jump 5.3%, making it the fastest growing since last month.

Westminster, MD followed behind with a 4.9% monthly rental growth rate.
