Rent prices in Denver have increased over the past few years, in large part due to the desirability of the Mile High. Before digging deeper into rent prices across the city and neighborhoods, here are some high-level rental stats to get you started:
- Denver is currently the 22nd most expensive rental market in the U.S., behind Dallas, TX and ahead of Houston, TX.
- A 1-bedroom rental apartment in the city currently averages $1,250 per month, while 2-bedrooms average $1,650.
- One-bedroom rent prices are 9.5% higher than the national average.
Taking a look at the Denver metro region as a whole, Denver is actually the third most expensive market behind Centennial and Broomfield. Eight of the cities in the Denver metro area are above the Colorado state median.
Are prices going up or down?

- However, other neighborhoods are considerably cheaper, starting in the $800 range for a 1-bedroom.
