The Zumper Baltimore Metro Report analyzed active listings in September across 15 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Maryland state median rent was $1,241 last month.
Cities Ranked By Rent
The Most Expensive
–Columbia, MD outpaced Elkridge this month to become the most expensive city with rent at $1,550.
–Elkridge, MD rent dropped 5.2% and one spot to rank as the 2nd priciest in the metro at $1,470.
–Annapolis, MD followed closely behind as third with rent at $1,460.
The Least Expensive
–Brooklyn Park, MD rent continued to be the most affordable in the metro at $760.
–Westminster, MD prices saw a $20 dip to $810 but remained the second least expensive.
–Dundalk, MD was the third least expensive city at $860.
Growth Rate
The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)
–Aberdeen, MD had the fastest growing rent since this time last year, up 15.5%.
–Baltimore, MD rent had the second largest yearly growth rate, climbing 11.8%.
–Dundalk, MD ranked as third with rent up 10.3%.
The Fastest Growing (M/M%)
–Annapolis & Catonsville, MD‘s monthly rental growth rates were tied for the fastest growing in the metro, both up 5%.
