The Zumper Baltimore Metro Report analyzed active listings in July across 14 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents.
Cities Ranked By Rent
The Most Expensive
–Elkridge, MD rent, although falling $50 since last month, continued to reign as the most expensive in the metro area.
–Ellicott City, MD ranked as the second most expensive city with rent at $1,490.
–Columbia, MD rent grew a whopping 5.1% to $1,440 since last month and outpaced Annapolis’ to rank as the third priciest.
The Least Expensive
–Brooklyn Park, MD was the most affordable city with rent at $800.
–Westminster, MD rent dropped $30 since last month and fell behind Dundalk to rank as the second least expensive.
–Dundalk, MD was close behind as third with rent at $850.
Growth Rate
The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)
–Glen Burnie, MD rent was the fastest growing, climbing 15.7% since this time last year.
–Baltimore, MD had the second fastest growing rent since this time last year, up 13.6%.
–Dundalk, MD rent had the third largest yearly growth rate, climbing 9%.
The Fastest Growing (M/M%)
–Brooklyn Park, MD rent grew 5.3% since last month, making it the fastest growing.
–Columbia, MD had the second fastest growing rent, up 5.1% since last month.
–Pikesville, MD was close behind as third with rent growing 5%.
